Filling Orders and Exciting News
Always love how the products come out. We have gotten more orders for the herbal aromatherapy pillows, but our first product the alphabet pillows are definitely the most popular. Very thankful for people putting their trust in us to fill their orders.
We are getting a new addition to our family!!! We will be posting on the website and the blog when we will be taking time to bond with our new baby girl. During that time, orders can still be placed, but they will not be filled. We expect about a three week time. We are so excited and want to enjoy every minute! Thank you!

Using Some New Fabrics
We've done some things with our new Amy Butler and Heather Bailey fabrics and they have come out just as good as far as quality as the home decor fabrics. We've been so happy about that. We don't offer them in the 17" letters though, just the 13" because they would distort if too big with these fabrics.
Did these vintage style with Amy Butler AB04 fabric, which is where we stitch on the outside, make little cuts around the outside of the letters so they will only fray to that point and not go past the stitching. Did these for a friend of mine and so excited to see how they look in her daughter's newly decorated room.
Just some closeups of the letters so you can see the frayed edges.

Of course, all of alphabet-shaped letters are still available in our home decor fabrics. All of the fabrics really look so much better in person. The home decor fabrics, even though they are a heavier weight to holdup with larger sized pillows, I have been so surprised out how great they are with the aromatherapy pillows as well.
We finally experimented with the Minky Dimple Dot fabric. This one is in white. It is so soft. Like a chenille...and it so popular in baby products like blankets and pillows. We will soon add these fabrics as choices for the heart-shaped pillow and the 13" alphabet pillow. When the Minky fabrics we have are uploaded, you'll be able to see all of the fabrics under each product description on our site.

Here's the same heart-shaped pillow came out with another new fabric from Heather Bailey HB10 Yellow. This was another pillow for my friend...
She had the back side on the top curve monogrammed with her daughter's full name. Just cannot wait to see these in her daughter's room.
We had our first repeat customer...decorating their room with Central Michigan University colors. This second order, they purchased the licensed fabric from the university, sent it to us, and they came out great!
Some pictures of an order from my Mother-in-Law for all of the family. They really were so surprised to see these in person...all of the products look so much better in person. Some of these Classic Aromatherapy Pillows were made with our home decor fabrics. I've personally used the lighter weight fabrics (like the Amy Butler and Heather Bailey) and the heavier weight fabrics (the home decor weight) and like both. Using them hot or cold, they both have the same benefits.

Santa's Helpers
Thank you so much for the orders we received during the holiday season. We kept up with all of them and got them out as soon as we could. We really did feel like Santa's little helpers. We had one customer whose 6-year old little girl had alphabet pillow on her wish list. It really is exciting to know you are making something special for someone.
We take pictures as much as we can before orders go out. So more pictures will always be added. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
And hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and the last few days of 2008!

We have Grown
We may not have hit our goal for October to have the new products offered, but we did make the goal. The only thing we are still working on are the numbers. They take awhile to create and we are picky in getting the shapes just right. We would rather take the time to get them right then to just get them up on the site.
Something that I (Patricia) do as a hobby is scrapbook. My local scrapbooking store was a vendor at a Scrapbooking event held locally and I was able to make up anything I wanted and they would show them off. Spelled out CrE8 which is a creative way of spelling Create, and added some of my own embellishments to them. Made them up to match the fun of the store's colors, and embroidered their name on the 8. They loved them so much and are so supportive of other small businesses, that they have them hanging in their store now as well.

Can't thank them enough as well, although I do frequent their store as often as I can ;)
It's been a very hectic few months with a lot of growth, but we are very excited and happy with how everything has come out. The embroidering looks great and has even surprised us as to how much it adds to our products. I've always been partial to the 13" alphabet letters, but the monogramming adds so much to the 17" letters that now I'm leaning towards those. I'm really loving the pom pom trim as well. Lots of fun orders and ideas we are seeing from customers. And taking as many pictures of them as we can to add to our site.
We made up samples of our alphabet pillows, the new Christmas stockings, and the Tooth Fairy Pillows to show at the Washington Parish Fair, which is held annually here in Louisiana, one of the country's best fairs. Can't say enough to thank our local sewing store for making that possible for us. We still owe the owner a Shoulder Aromatherapy Pillow for that. They didn't have our products up yet and we were not able to go back. We may be able to get a photo from the owner and share that later.

Can't thank them enough as well, although I do frequent their store as often as I can ;) We do have a few more new things to try out with some new fabrics. But we are also offering that you can provide your own fabric if you have something specific in mind that we don't carry. Especially College or Sports related. We can't sell those because of licensing, but you can buy the fabric, send it to us, and we can make what you want from it. Just contact us and we can help you out with how much fabric to provide.
Thanks so much to the customers that have ordered from us and to those that are stopping by. We really appreciate it.

Lots of Creativity Going On
We made it through Gustav safe and sound. Just no power for 5 days, which also means no running water, no sewer, and no A/C for us, so wasn't pleasant, but safe and very thankful.
Once we were back up, we were able to get back to working on some new things...
Our plan by the end of this month or beginning of October is to:
- pick out all of the embroidery fonts, run the samples
- have all the numbers designed and created
- have examples of our Christmas stocking
- have the shoulder aromatherapy pillow ready
- take and upload all of the pictures of the samples
- and have it all on our site
So lots of creative fun going on here, and hoping to share what we've done with others very soon.
This is a sneak of one of the fonts that will be available for monogramming. I did these lavender eye pillows for my future sister-in-law as little gifts for her bridesmaids. They came out so adorable and really are a cute little something gift. My sister-in-law asked for no lavender in hers, which is something we will add to the site. I can understand having headaches and needing fragrance free. So just filling hers with flax seed was not a problem.

Recent Orders
Orders this month have been just wonderful. So fun to see what everyone picks out as far as the colors, size of the pillows, and patterns. They all came out great. And hopefully will be enjoyed.
We are about to upload some pictures of the aromatherapy pillows. I have worn mine out. And it got used even more when Dennis was recently sick. So very happy to be able to get a new one and to be able to share these with others. It has been especially good for my headaches, being able to heat them up or to freeze them. Once we learn a little more about our new embroidery machine, we will also be able to have that as an option when orders are placed. And, yes, we will be offering monogramming and embroidery on the alphabet pillows as well.
Looking into getting some new fabrics for the aromatherapy pillows and the alphabet pillows. Haven't worked out the details, but hoping to have a sale on everything using our current fabrics. We will update our site for placing orders to reflect the sale prices.
We have really enjoyed our first year and ready to add more things and offer more services.
Hoping everyone is well and enjoying the weekend.
